Sometimes

It was dusk,
With all the headlights gleaming.
Romance was calling,
With the streets tuned to saxophone.

Hand in hand with the moonlight dim,
We walked by the sidewalk.
Sweet she was, with the scent of lilac,
She turned to me.

A stillness prevailed,
Overshadowed by the chimes.
Stars blushed,
The shadows played.

It was a good night.
